Project Overview

Olympic House Belfast, located in the heart of Belfast’s innovation district – Titanic Quarter – offers 146,746 sq. ft of Grade A, BREEAM “Excellent sustainable” office accommodation. This striking building was designed by Todd Architects and brought to life by main contractor O’Hare & McGovern and is one of the largest office buildings ever constructed in Belfast.

We were involved from the initial design and specification stage of this prestigious project, working closely with the design teams in both Todds and O’Hare McGovern and our manufacturing company Elite Doors to provide a fully certified and integrated high performance timber doorset solution, door automation, access control, ironmongery, fire-rated glazed screens and doors and concealed frame riser doorsets.

Working closely with our clients in Todd Architects we utilised our 360 scheduling and specification system to ‘mentally walk the building as the user would’ and to deliver a detailed access and fire strategy. In line with our ethos of simplifying project specification, we provided our clients with colour-coded floorplans, clear documentation, operational overviews, warranties, certification, and wiring information for every single component specified.

On the exterior envelope of the building we provided two TORMAX fully automatic revolving door systems to facilitate both the entry and egress of building users and to ensure energy efficiency and minimal heat loss for the sustainability-conscious building. Adjacent to each revolving door installation we provided Safe Pass automated swing doors with access control on both the interior and exterior of each.

Across the main core of the building on each floor, we provided a series of specialist concealed frame riser doorsets, an aesthetically-pleasing solution to traditional riser doors that leave only a minimalist shadow gap on view.

On the ground floor we supplied and installed a series of impressive fire rated, acoustic, glazed screens and doors surrounding an open atrium style space that fills the centre of the building, leading out on both sides to larger open plan office spaces.

We also specified and supplied a full ironmongery package for the project utilising our grade 316 solid stainless steel, superior quality modus range. We worked closely with our manufacturing company, Elite Doors, to specify and deliver a superior quality, walnut veneer finish fire rated timber doorset solution across all floors of the building in single, double and leaf-and-a-half variations. Many of these doors form part of the buildings access strategy and are integrated with swing door operation, electric locking and access control.
