We worked closely with the design teams in Isherwood & Ellis Architects and OB Construction to develop a commercial solution for this refurbishment project in Belfast City Centre that would encapsulate the automation, access control and operating ironmongery requirements of the building and its users and work in harmony with the timber and glazed doors throughout the facility.

We specified and installed a double automated entrance lobby system for the main entrance of the building with intercom and access control systems that would enable the clients to monitor and control the entry of both staff and visitors into the facility. The staggered Portalp automatic sliding doors into the main reception area of the building allow for reduced heat loss whilst also facilitating the maximum flow of natural daylight into the space through slim profiles and large glazed panes.

On the exterior of the building the AiPhone audio/video entry system can control both the main entrance door and the carpark barrier system. This allows security at the front desk to manage visitor access to the building while staff can utilise key cards for ease of entry. Internally, due to the nature of the building, there was a requirement to use access control throughout the entire facility. We specified and supplied an RBH online access control system allowing the client to limit or restrict access to certain areas such as cleaning stores to certain staff.

Corridors with office and meeting room spaces branch off the main entrance lobby and are operated by GEZE EMD swing door operators and controlled by push pad and access control readers.

We specified and utilised our modus range of grade 316 stainless steel hardware and accessories throughout this project to create a modern, durable and high-quality finish which fits in perfectly with the overall aesthetic of the refurbished building interior.
