Our solution included a series of high performance Elite timber doorsets in laminate and veneer finishes with a requirement for acoustic performance properties due to the nature of the intended use of the building. Some of the doorsets specified were PAS24 certified for enhanced security. We provided a combination of non fire rated, FD30s and FD60s doorsets for fire and smoke resistance in a variety of orientations including single, double and leaf-and-a-half, with and without vision panels, solid or glazed overpanels or glazed side screens.
On the exterior envelope of the building we provided two TORMAX fully automatic revolving door systems to facilitate both the entry and egress of building users and to ensure energy efficiency and minimal heat loss for the sustainability-conscious building. Adjacent to each revolving door installation we provided Safe Pass automated swing doors with access control on both the interior and exterior of each.
On the exterior of the building the AiPhone audio/video entry system can control both the main entrance door and the carpark barrier system. This allows security at the front desk to manage visitor access to the building while staff can utilise key cards for ease of entry. Internally, due to the nature of the building, there was a requirement to use access control throughout the entire facility. We specified and supplied an RBH online access control system allowing the client to limit or restrict access to certain areas such as cleaning stores to certain staff.
On the ground floor we specified and installed a PAS24 GEZE automatic sliding front entrance system with electric locking. This impressive double height entrance lobby features an external automatic sliding door with access control leading onto an internal revolving door system and adjacent safe pass automatic swing door operated by Dorma ED100 swing door operators, all built into the impressive slim frame façade of the building.
We provided a specialist ‘SafeDoor” to replace the standard doors in the en-suite areas. These doors use short-range magnetism for their fixing points and detach under any weight above 9kg meaning they can eliminate all points of ligature associated with doors and hardware whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient. We also supplied full anti-ligature ironmongery kits for the doors as well as anti-ligature radiator covers which were bespoke to the varying size of radiators throughout the unit.
We designed a bespoke anti-ligature doorset solution with integrated anti-ligature hardware for all bedroom, ensuite, bathroom, communal and corridor areas in the ward, in addition to designing and providing an anti-ligature compliant access control strategy to facilitate the movement of both staff and residents in each area of the facility
We worked closely with Todd Architects and Martin & Hamilton to create a bespoke automatic and access control solution Woodside

At 250,000 square feet, City Quays 3 is one of the largest Grade A office developments to be built in Northern Ireland, housing 1,800 workers. The project was designed and built to meet the BREEAM Excellent sustainability standard, placing it in the top 10 percent of sustainable new buildings in the UK.
KCC designed and developed a proposal for a completely bespoke, thermally-broken MHB steel window system with our partners in Holland. Given the importance and high specification of the bespoke façade system, there was a requirement to design and fabricate full-size prototype units which were then tested rigorously by approved testing bodies in Holland for thermal modelling, acoustic testing, wind/pressure and water testing.
The glazed screens and doors used were a combination of EI90 and EI60 with integrated hardware and automation on the door leaves. Due to the highly thick fire-rated glass in the door leaves we used heavy duty automatic operators to facilitate the weight of the panels which ranged from 80kg up to 240kg.
We are proud to have the prestigious Castleknock hotel as a valued client. Recently there was a requirement to automate and extend an existing corridor door from a standard double door to a brand new double doorset with an extended active leaf
