Private Residence, Westport

This was a private residential project where we worked directly with the client and owner of the property on a renovation of an existing house. The property is ideally located surrounded by beautiful landscapes and in order to maximise the impressive view, the client had a vision of having a full wall of glass overlooking Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick. We elected to use the Sky-Frame frameless sliding door system to meet the clients performance and aesthetic requirements. At it’s widest, the seemingly frameless system was 13 metres wide and 2.8 metres high and for ease of use, we automated the two centre panels to create a beautiful opening out onto the exterior patio. Due to the level of noise pollution from the adjacent main road, the specification required the use of acoustically-insulated glass. We were able to create a bespoke triple-glazed system capable of offering sound insulation of 44dB, allowing the clients to enjoy the spectacular view in silence when the system is in closed position.
