Project Overview

This project comprised of a complete overhaul and extension of a period house on a spectacular site by the sea in Dublin. The site is located on the sea side of Vico Road, an Architectural Conservation Area and has wonderful views of the Irish Sea. Overlooking Killiney Bay, Architects Aughey O’Flaherty wanted to maximise the view for their clients and specified the Sky-Frame system as the ideal solution due to its performance capabilities, aesthetics and the ability to integrate automation into the system. We used the Sky-Frame 3, triple-glazed system anodised to coastal specifications and automated the panes to create a fully open corner onto the decking area overlooking the sea. The system is 2.8 metres in height and along the front section measures 7 metres in width with the side panes measuring 3 metres in width and sits above a private parking area. This renovation and extension totally transformed an existing property to maximise natural light and to avail of a naturally stunning vista.
