Glazed fire screens and doors for landmark Dublin project

  • Sector Commercial
  • Location: Dublin, Ireland
  • Architect: Henry J Lyons
  • Contractor: Bennett Construction

Project Overview

This new, nine-storey, headquarters style, flexible office building is a landmark addition to Dublin’s skyline. The building is an impressive eight-storeys-over-basement at its highest point and stands at 10,960 sqm in size, making it one of the largest and most eye-catching buildings in the Dublin docklands. The building offers unrivalled panoramic views of the River, Customs House, the Samuel Beckett Bridge, the Convention Centre, and of the Dublin Mountains to the south. We worked closely with the design team to create glazed fire screens and doors throughout the building in all lobby areas, allowing light to fill each space and creating a clean, slimline aesthetic to match the overall design intent. These screens also serve a very important function for building occupants, providing effective fire protection for lift enclosures and stairwells. We also supplied and installed heavy duty, steel security doors for both the basement and back of house areas for building and occupant security. This highly impressive and prestigious commercial building has already won “Construction project of the year 2019” at the Irish Construction Industry Awards and was named winner of “Commercial New build” in the ISOVER Energy Efficiency Design Awards 2019 and of the 2019 RIAI Awards in the “workplace/new building” category.
