How to simplify the specification process

Simplifying the specification process with KCC 360

In this video Kristiana, one of our specification schedulers at KCC Group, talks through how KCC 360 helps to simplify the specification process for our clients and customers.

The specification scheduler role

My name is Kristiana and I am the specification scheduler here at the KCC Group. My role involves analysing all the documents sent into us from either clients or architects.

Before being able to commence with the KCC 360 process, we need to identify if we have everything that is necessary to complete a full ironmongery schedule. Things that we need include floor plans door schedules, fire ratings and door elevations. Once all this criteria is met we can then proceed with the process.

What is KCC 360?

KCC 360 is a highly detailed, unique specification and project scheduling solution developed by KCC Group to deliver clear, easy to follow, fully compliant ‘Design submittals’, ‘Project set submittals’ and ‘Technical submittals’.

A time-saving and hassle free service that gives you all the detail, plans, drawings, specifications, warranties, and certifications for every door, automation, access, hardware, riser door or wall system on your project.

What are the benefits of KCC 360?

KCC 360 provides a crystal clear, easy to understand visual of your project, which offers a simplified way to review and approve the documents with all information coming from a single source.

This innovative specification and scheduling tool takes away stress, speeds up client approval time, and reduces your risk – it is a very efficient way of specifying end to end solutions for even the most complex projects.

KCC 360: A four step process to simplifying specification

  1. Colour Coded Floor Plans

To give you a clear picture of your project and to speed up project reviews, our experts start by colour coding each element of your floor plans, highlighting the door, hardware and glazing areas and identifying the key parts of the access and automatics strategy.

  2. Project Sets Submittal

So that you can easily relate each element back to its location in the overall plan, we then map out all the elements and components that make up your project in the Project Sets Submittal, including the relevant colour coded key from the floor plans for all sets and components.

  3. Design Submittal

To determine if the functions of that set match the exact requirements for that location in the building and ensure all functionality is carefully considered, our experts then create detailed isometric drawings for each set, clearly showing the specific functionality of every element. Each drawing is also mapped back to its colour coded key from the floor plan, highlighting the planned location of the element in the building.

  4. Technical Submittal

All the technical information ready first time, for one review and approval. We’ll provide one comprehensive pack with all the detail, including; Datasheets, specification text, certifications and warranties, for every component, every element, every set, of your project. Revit models are also available on request.
