Ensuring Safety & Secure Access in Specialist Educational Facilities
This specialist, multi-denominational school in Donegal supports students aged 3 to 18 with moderate, severe, and profound learning disabilities, as well as students with autism.
We collaborated closely with main contractors Boyle Construction to deliver an EN13637-compliant access control solution, integrating wall readers and electric locking to safely manage entry and exit throughout this purpose-built facility.
In addition, we provided a comprehensive ironmongery package in a satin stainless steel finish. Given the critical focus on student and staff safety, we implemented double-lever door handles, a widely used safety measure in similar facilities. By installing a second lever handle at head height, doors require both levers to be engaged simultaneously to open. This helps to provide a secure environment, minimizing the risk of unsupervised exits while ensuring accessibility for staff.
