Kinsale Community Hospital

An ironmongery, wall protection and handrail solution for community hospital project

  • Sector Healthcare
  • Location: Cork
  • Architect: Todd Architects
  • Contractor: Ross Building

Project Overview

For this healthcare project, Todd Architects designed an extension to an existing facility, Kinsale Community Hospital, to include internal alteration and refurbishment works, as part of the HSE Cork Community Hospital Bundle. The project was designed to provide a ‘Step Down’ facility to move patients from the main hospital into a community facility closer to home to continue their care. We were appointed by Ross Building to deliver a full ironmongery, wall protection and handrail solution to the project. We used a satin stainless steel healthcare ironmongery solution with all operating ironmongery and accessories. The handrails provide stability for patients moving through the facility but paired with the lower bumper, also act as a protective measure for trolleys or equipment moving through corridors.
