Project Overview
We were specified by the architects on this project because of Sky-Frame aesthetics and curved capabilities. The project is still on site but nearing completion and comprises of an impressive extension onto an existing listed property overlooking the sea in Dublin. The combination of curved and straight Sky-Frame glazing allows the owners to maximise the stunning view and the flow of natural daylight into the space. The classic Sky-Frame ‘straight’ sections are also equipped with motorised opening function for ease of use. Down from the main property the architect also designed a private pool house, right on the sea wall, using the Classic Sky-Frame system again for maximum glazed areas.

Based on the needs of the facility we elected to use our Quantum speed gate which is the fastest open and close speed gate on the market capable of facilitating up to 55 persons passing per minute. This makes it the ideal solution for sites with high visitor flow rate.

For this healthcare project, Todd Architects designed an extension to an existing facility, Kinsale Community Hospital, to include internal alteration and refurbishment works, as part of the HSE Cork Community Hospital Bundle. The project was designed to provide a ‘Step Down’ facility to move patients from the main hospital into a community facility closer to home to continue their care.
Concealed door & ironmongery solution for refurbished historical building
The €3.7million project involved the refurbishment of the historical James O’Neill building in Church Square, originally an Old Mill, which dates back to the late 19th Century. The library has been carefully and beautifully designed to sit inside the original shell of the Old Mill building, creating a modern, bright space whilst still maintaining the original charm of the Stone building.
