1 Horgan’s Quay

1 Horgan’s Quay is one of KCC Group’s largest Munster projects. It is one of Ireland’s most significant and exciting urban developments. Enhancing a greener economy and minimizing urban sprawl are some of the objectives of the sustainable movement. The office building design included floor-to-ceiling glazing and deep overhangs to allow for maximum daylight while minimizing excessive solar gain. Horgan’s Quay was designed to target a Building Energy Rating of A2 and Wired Score Platinum and KCC Group are glad to be a part of this project and contributing to the sustainable movement.

We worked closely with the design team to deliver a fire-rated glazing solution for the lobby areas of the building using Janisol Non-Rebated Fire Doors on seven of the buildings’ floors. We also provided a sleek and modern riser door solution using the concealed frame Selo system to ensure that service cupboards throughout the building did not detract from the overall aesthetic of the impressive and modern project or the clients vision. We also installed and commissioned a door automation solution using Dorma ED250 operators on the Janisol Doors throughout the project. There was also a requirement for internal glazed screens, for which we elected to use the Janisol range also. One of these screens was fire-rated and we used Pyrogard glass. For the other non-fire rated screens we used Careys glass, both compatible with the Janisol profiling system and together achieving a modern, clean aesthetic and allowing maximum amounts of daylight to pass through each area.
