KCC Group recently completed a complex and highly coordinated Portalp installation at University Hospital Limerick, delivering six single sliding screens with switchable glass and manifestation.
Project Overview
The project was carried out for Martins Construction Ltd and required close collaboration across multiple locations and specialist suppliers. The switchable glass was manufactured in Poland before being transported to France, where Portalp assembled the components. From there, the completed systems were shipped to KCC Group for installation on site in Limerick.
This international supply chain made the project particularly complex, requiring careful planning, coordination and attention to detail from all parties involved.
Flexible Solutions
The final scope included
six single sliding screens, each incorporating switchable glass technology and manifestation. Switchable glass allows the screens to change from transparent to opaque, offering privacy when required while still supporting a bright, modern and flexible healthcare environment.
Project Outcome
Despite the complexity of the project, the installation was completed efficiently by the KCC Group team over nine days, following a lead time of approximately three months.
The result is a clean, high-quality installation that combines functionality, privacy and modern design – a project the team is proud to have delivered.
