About Fire Door Inspections

As part of our Maintenance & Inspection business division we provide a Fire Door Inspection and repair / replacement service to clients across all sectors.  We currently have a skilled team of qualified Fire Door Inspectors operating across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland with headquarters in Dublin, Cork and Belfast and due to continued expansion we have an exciting opportunity for additional Fire Door Inspectors to join our team in Northern Ireland.

Regular Inspection and maintenance of Fire Doors is essential to comply with current legislation, but most importantly to keep people and property safe. You will be working with a team who ensure that Fire Doors in all building types are safe, compliant and effective in protecting occupants against smoke and flames in the event of a fire. Our Fire Door Inspection service also provides a detailed maintenance inspection report of all fire and exit doors, using the latest data collection software.

The role

We are looking for Fire Door Inspectors to join our team. You will be part of a team carrying out Fire Door Surveys for private and public sector clients. Whilst fire door and joinery experience would be beneficial we will also consider:

  • Building Surveyors with experience of Stock Condition Surveys looking at getting in to the Fire Industry
  • Trades people with experience of fitting and repairing Fire Doors, looking to get off the tools and into a technical role
Fire Door Inspector / Surveyor Responsibilities:
  •  Complete visual inspections and surveys on fire doors to ensure they are up to compliance standards
  •  Produce reports and offer advice and recommendations to clients Have a good understanding of Timber Fire Doors, door surrounds and similar furniture
  •  Be able to identify that the frame specification is correct for the door’s rating Be able to ensure that the choice of Frame/lining/casing and intumescent smoke seals are compatible
  •  Have good working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation
Ideal characteristics / competencies
  • Third Party accredited Training (BM Trada, DoorCheck, BRE), etc  or equivalent preferred but not essential as training will be provided to attain qualifications
  • Surveying experience of private and public sector properties
  • Full UK driving license
  • High attention to detail and Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT literate, able to use Microsoft suite and Tablet/PDA’s.
